This is one of the many reasons I want to find a way to replace all my various social networking sites with just this WordPress install on this domain.

Drug wars, zombie bitting, all these BS apps are all the more reason to get away from Facebook.

There is one major hurdle that I haven’t figured out how to clear just yet. I want to be able to make different posts available to different users, and put them in groups.

For example:

I want to be able to select either the group ‘friends’ and have everyone in that group be able to see the post, or select ‘Billy’, someone who is in the group ‘friends’ and only have Billy be able to see the post. ‘Everyone’ would go to everyone who has an account, and ‘guest’ would go to anyone who isn’t logged in.

Naturally I would just use the regular WordPress account system.

But in all reality, this may work better with other CMSs than WordPress, like ExpressionEngine or Drupal, or even MovableType.

Does anyone have any advice/suggestions for doing such a thing?
